The client supports SSL2, SSL3, PCT, and TLS protocols and uses Certificates held within the Windows Certificate store.Standard Functions PlatinumFTPclient comes with the standard features of RFC959 for example, Make/Delete/Rename/Change folders, Send/Receive/Delete files.Firewall SupportBuilt-in support for SOCKS4/5, USER(LOGIN/NOLOGIN), OPEN, SITE(LOGIN/NOLOGIN), and PIPE Proxies. CHMOD PlatinumFTPclient supports the UNIX CHMOD command. When selecting a remote file, you are able to change its Read, Write or Execute properties for Owner/Group and Other. This option only works on servers which support this feature.Site Manager The Site Manager allows the user to easily configure the connection details for each server. Each configuration can be stored in categories. Use the Connection Wizard to create your server definitions and It comes with a built in Import Wizard which allows you to import site information from WS_FTP and 3DFTP Clients. You can set the server type to UNIX, Windows, AS400 or Auto. When using Auto, the client will ask the server what type it is and change the internal configuration accordingly. You can also drag & drop the connection entries between defined groups so that you can move all your favorite connections into one group or folder. The site manager comes with over 100 predefined sites so that you can start to look for files or other information immediately.Zip & Zip archive manager PlatinumFTPclient comes with a built in Zip archive manager. It also allows gives you the ability to Zip/Unzip files local and remote, transfer and unzip or zip and transfer.Scripts and VBscri`pt Editor As well as the Zip archive manager, PlatinumFTPclient comes with it's own VBscri`pt editor and lots of example scri`pts. With the scri`pt editor, you are able to develop your own custom scri`pts to help automate repetitive tasks. PlatinumFTPclient has also extends the command set of VBscri`pt to include over 40 new commands including the ability to retrieve system resource information and encryption. You are also able to control the built in Zip and FTP objects, thus allowing you the ability to extend the product. Full help is available for the editor and objects. All scri`pts created with this tool are available from the Tools/Scripts menu of PlatinumFTPclient. This allows for easy selection and execution. Script Scheduler PlatinumFTPclient has the ability to Schedule your scri`pts or other programs using the built in Script Scheduler. This feature works with the operating system so that the scheduling process is more efficient and secure. This option will only work if you have Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater installed.FavoritesSave the location of your favorite file on the remote server and when the favorite is selected at a future date, the client logs on and highlights the file.Encrypt/Decrypt PlatinumFTPclient comes with a built in Blowfish Cipher and this gives the ability to Encrypt/Decrypt files local and remote.Zip/Unzip/OpenWhen selecting files local and remote, you can zip them into single archives, combine them into one large archive or open them into the Zip Manager. You have four compression options when performing a zip function, Maximum, Normal, Low or none.Transfer As well as the standard transfer options, you can transfer files from the server and they can be made to automatically unzip in the local path or you can select local files and zip/send them as single archives or one large archive. When receiving a zip archive for auto unzipping, if it has password protection, you will be requested for the password to complete the unzip process. You can also set PlatinumFTPclient to auto-detect the file type prior to transfer or set it manually to ASCII/BINARY or EBCDIC.Copy & PasteLocal and remote files can be transferred using the Copy and Pate option. You can Copy and Paste between two or more remote servers.View fileWith it's built in file viewer, you are able to view files local and remote. PlatinumFTPclient will even auto detect the file type and show you the files as ASCII, HEX, Picture, Zip contents, VB, C++, HTML and XML. The source code is viewed with color highlighted keywords. You can also define other programs to use instead of the built in viewer.FindWhen selecting the find option on a local or remote folder, you will be presented with the find screen. From this screen you are able to perform a search on exact or partial match. If requested, the client will scan all Sub Folders and files. When the search completes, you will be present with the results which you can then select the file and the client will take you to the location of that selected file.RunYou are able to define file type links to programs on your local drive. Once this is done, you can select a file and then execute it with the Run option. The file will be downloaded if necessary and then passed as a parameter to the defined program associated with that file type using the Shell command. CommandsDefine custom commands local and remote which can be executed from the client. Local commands are run using the Shell command while remote commands run using the FTP SITE command.Quick Connect From the main screen, you can select the Quick connect option which will extend the main toolbar to include a quick connect panel. PASV When the client performs a data transfer transaction with the server, it needs to request or state a port to perform that transaction on. It is always better to allow the server to return an available port to use. Set the value PASV to give the server control, or PORT if you wish the Client to have control. Some Fire Walls will only accept a PASV connection.Wildcard Filters Support for Local and Remote filters using defined or user defined settings. Smart Keep Alive feature addedConfigure the client to keep the connection active (alive) so that the server does not execute a time-out and disconnect process. Log FTP SessionsRecord the entire session to a Log file. Resume DownloadingPlatinumFTPclient can resume downloading of incomplete files. This works with all FTP sites that support this feature.Log WindowSession information is written to the Log window in the client so that you can see the transactions taking place. Directory Upload and DownloadPlatinumFTPclient allows you to upload and download entire directory tree structures to and from the remote server. This feature makes the mirroring of Web sites easier.
